SEEDA Wants To Hear From YOU.
Posted: Thursday 30th Oct 2008
Earlier in the year some of you may have completed an important survey about your company’s use of ICT, for the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). If you were able to take part we are grateful for your time and contribution to this. The report and case studies from this can now be found here. There is also a press release here.
The survey you possibly helped with (and if you didn’t please keep reading), was to help identify problems that businesses have or expect with ICT, and how SEEDA and its partners might assist the business community. We are keen to do what we can to improve your business productivity through the use of ICT, and to help your bottom line. We want to advise you of guidance that your business may not be taking advantage of.
For instance, there is the SEEDA Business IT Guide. This is a free online tool developed by e-skills UK in partnership with over 200 small businesses, to increase the awareness and understanding of the potential of ICT. Through 100s of guides, articles, tips and blogs the Business IT Guide aims to inform business managers about the benefits ICT can bring, all presented in non-technical terms. Focusing on business benefits, the Business IT Guide can help users to learn more, explore possibilities, seek advice and contact potential suppliers.
You can register free for this here at knowing it has the approval of some of the big players in the small business world. (Or use businessitguide.com if the link is unavailable.)
Business Link has advisors, with whom you can discuss how you can begin to improve the use of ICT and E-Commerce in your business. Call 0845 6009006 or email info@businesslinksoutheast.co.uk. You can keep in touch with them and learn of new support for you when it becomes available.
For those of you within travelling distance of Southampton there is an event related to this work on the Wednesday 10th December at the Millbrook Technology Campus. For further information about the event please contact sarahsalihi@seeda.co.uk. There will also be another event in Kent later.
