Working from home or remotely…there is much to consider

Posted: Monday 29th Mar 2010

Working from home is gaining in popularity as companies are cutting back on expensive office space and encouraging employees to reduce carbon emissions from commuting to work by car. Teleconferencing with global business partners is a cheaper option than flying abroad, and we can now even access files on our home computer remotely. The technology is available, but what are the best options for your home office?

On Thursday, March 25th, David Vane and Carolyn Fujii of 247Virtual and Sam Swinstead of Challenge Manager discussed the pros and cons of working from home or remotely. Thirty two attendees learned about the newest technology that will keep you connected to the home office, how and where to set up your office, and HR issues that must be considered, especially if you employ remote or home workers.

He’ll discuss aspects of working from home and allow participants to experience some of the remote technology available. All you need is a phone and access to a web browser.
