Starting at the BBC, the Bank of England has only narrowly voted to keep interest rates where they are, while the number of approved mortgages have dropped by almost a quarter in June alone.

The Times continues with predictions that property value could fall by a fifth in the next two years, while ad revenues plummet for the Daily Mail.

Next, The Guardian says that the manufacturing sector will soon be in a recession as UK banks are urged to set aside money for an emmergency fund should any of them do a ‘Northern Rock’.

Over at The Telegraph, crude oil could be down to $90 a barrel soon while cheapo supermarket chains Aldi and Lidl are booming as belts tightens.

Meanwhile, The Independent reports that GM motors is trying to set up infrastructure for its new electric car, while water company Severn Trent is warning that many customers are finding it increasingly hard to pay their debts.

And finally, The Register says that Tiscali is suing BT over rude letters sent to customers, while a Japanese scientist is developing a means of operating devices simply by blinking.
